    Docucolor 252 won't boot

Machine won't boot, display shows 2 segment and then just hangs for a while and after a while displays 116-399 (I think)

I tried disconnecting all accessories (finisher, LCT, fiery..) Still same.

A few have said it sounds like corrupt firmware or failed HD. Any other things to try??

Any Xerox techs in the Hartford CT area to repair?? I think the PWS is needed to perform further tests and repairs??

    Any help would be great.

Check the hdd from inside of machine. You can disconect it and put it onto a PC for checking.
Of course all these operations with copier power off and disconected from power outlet.

you are saying to see if the HD is operational? See if PC BIOS finds it??

Well a few other things popped up and caused a delay looking at this.

I got to it this AM and rethought what happened. Printing heavy card stock and kept jamming in finisher, many jams in both machine and finisher. Disconnected finisher, same. Took out fuser assy, same. Before I took machine apart and found someone to hook up PWS to troubleshoot further I stopped and thought about it. The only thing I did was open and close doors and clear heavy paper, shouldn't fry hard drive or firmware. I rechecked door and areas, if I turned machine on with main door open, I got same result. So I used a tool to wedge/close door sensor manually and guess what, machine came up on restart. I looked at the door and the cheater for the sensor screws on to the door, unscrewed it and shimmed it a bit. Now working nicely. Will order a door sensor soon.

            Thanks for help!
