    Hi Guys,

Recently I have a problem with my Xerox it gives me this Black bar, and There is a small noise made inside the machine like some kind of gear or something.
Is this a drum issue or a developer unit issue.?

    Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks guys, have an awesome day.

Did you try to replace drum? Or Corotron?
That would be the first step.

This is caused by the corotron cleaner stalling on the black drum unit. You can remove the corotron to find why the cleaner is binding and not moving, replace the corotron or replace the black drum (comes with a corotron).

        Re: DC250 Black Bar Problem

Hi guys. I have changed the new drum and again the same. What i have found is that the small brush that moves from left to right into the drum that doesnt move it is stuck in the place were the black bar is coming out. So that explains why i have smal noises of gear as i mention before. But is it the problem in the drum or inside the machine??

Did you replace just the drum or the drum that comes with a new corotron? If you have a new corotron installed it shouldn't be a problem with your drum/corotron but what drives the little cleaner for the corotron.

Remove the black drum and locate the piece in the back that moves the cleaner from front to back. Turn it by hand. You should be able to move the cleaner all the way back to front to back again. If it moves freely, you'll have to inspect the part that drives this cleaner behind the drum units. Best way to get back there is to remove the drum tray assembly from its rails and also remove the IBT assembly. That will give you enough room to check what drives the cleaner on the back (inside) frame of the copier.

Another option would be to remove the piece that drives the corotron cleaner, move the cleaner all the way to one end or the other and from time to time, manually clean the corotron. This is not an option I would be allowed to use but if this is your personal machine and you don't have a maintenance contract for service, that is one way to go.
