XEROX 700 (Fault 005-282)

Good Night Friends.
I am on a Xerox 700 and just got Fault Code 005-282. Tray 5 is not activating.
Can anyone provide Help with Correcting the Issue?

005-282 I believe is a DADF tray lift fail. When you use the DADF to scan originals, the tray lifts up for feeding. Your tray is either stuck or you have having a sensor malfunction. This error has nothing to do with tray #5. Power off the machine then power it back on. Do not load any paper in tray 5 before you power on. On power up, tray 5 bottom plate should raise and lower. If it fails to do this it should display an error (I think 72-210 but im not 100% sure). If this is the case, its most likely due to a cracked gear on the paper lift motor shaft. You can replace just the gear. The part # is 655N00367.

Make sure the scanner cable is connected to the rear of the DADF and to the ESS. It will fit in two places on the ESS, make sure you have it on the black one.

PM me if you would like a cheap alternative for the Tear 5 gear.

Customers used to stick heavy reams of paper on top of the dadf, remove whatevers on top of it and reboot! Should be fine!
