This error indicates a malfunction with the Printhead Wiper Blade.
Initial action:
Check wiper alignment.
Check damage, debris or ink build up near the printhead.
Troubleshooting Procedure:
Step 1-
Test wiper alignment. Run service diagnostics wiper drive test. Did the test fail?
Yes-Perform ADJ 2.5.1 and reset. If test fails again go to step 2.
No- Go to step 2.
Step 2-
Test the wiper drive.
Run the service diagnostics wiper drive test. Did the test fail?
Yes- Go to step 3.
No- Go to step 5.
Step 3-
Check the wiper drive and lock systems for ink, obstructions or damage. Is the wiper drive functioning correctly?
Yes- Go to step 4.
No- Clear any ink obstructions or replace any damaged components.
Step 4-
Check head maintenance clutch. Is there any oil, contamination or obvious damage?
Yes- Clean the interior of the system or replace the clutch if necessary.
No- Go to step 5.
Step 5-
Test the head maintenance clutch. Run service diagnostics head maintenance clutch test. Does the clutch function correctly?
Yes- Replace in order: Exit Module, Media Drive Assy, Wiper Blade.
No- Replace the Head Maintenance Clutch.
If none of the above is the cause, there is also a eureka tip that indicates your problem may be a defective wire harness. The harness (PL 5.0 item 14). This is the wire harness that plugs in directly above the main power switch on the right hand side of the machine.
