    DC 240/250 & SRA3

Do any other DocuColor 240/242/250 owners have a problem with running SRA3?

I now have 2 machines, a DC242 and a DC250 and neither of them can run SRA3 from the bypass tray - every time I print, the paper stops just as it exits the fuser. I've tried changing fusers but same problem. This leads me to believe that it's a configuration error rather than a machine fault but I have looked everywhere to try and find the issue. I have tried both 150gsm and 300gsm but they both stop at the same point

The paper isn't 'jammed' - I can pull it through the fuser easily.

Does anyone else run SRA3 through this family of printers?

Most of our customers run only SRA3. HW stock tends to bend so that it will not go back through the fuser a second time without flattening it first, but never come across any issue with SRA3 causing a stop condition.

There is an issue on these fusers where if you are not careful when you take paper out of the fuser after a jam then you can knock the fuser exit sensor out of position and you have to take the bottom of the fuser off and re-seat it.

Other than that, the tray guide may need setting up, but it should not pick up if it is not recognising it as SRA3. The only other thing is that somebody has been messing with the NVM's and knocked the timing out.

When the machine stops you will have an error code in the bottom left hand corner; what is it?

      OMG I feel so foolish!

I have lived with this problem for the last 12 months until the second DC250 arrived with the same issue - the only thing I could think of that was common between both printers was the paper stock.

I have been ordering SRA3 for the last 12 months and just checked and found out that their paper is actually 46cm long rather than the 45cm that SRA3 should be - I can't believe that I hadn't checked this DOH!

      Thanks
