    Workcentre 7655 won't boot up?

I have a Workcentre 7655 that keeps trying to get to ready,
but the the display on the UI goes only so far then says "recovering".

It keeps flashing "recovering" for about five miniutes
then reboots and goes through the whole process all over again.

    Like it's in a loop.

I have the PWS Diags and EDOC's.

A little help in the right direction would be appreciated.

I am thinking of ALTBOOT but not sure that's my best option.

I saw that one tech said you could go into Diags while the machine was booting up to see which section was not completing.
I thought he said it was in the ALTBOOT section but I couldn't find a way to watch all the individual systems come online.

    Thanks again

Well you have 2 devices here, the machine itself and the controller. a 76** being a general pita the thing wont come up if either one is malfunctioning. I was told this is because part of the required software is on the controller.

So for the iot (machine) you can use the download mode, just hook it up to a machine with pws tools, open the downloader and load the software.
The controller is where you would have to altboot to install new software. you will need a serial cable connected to your pws machine, as well as a network cable, configured on 192.168.0.1. start the altboot program and then watch the altboot screen while your machine boots, itll give you options, respond quick altboot displays lag behind so when it say you have 5 seconds to respond you actually have 2 left :P

Let me know if you need anything else, i pm'd you the software

First try to reinstall NC, but in many cases NC is the problem (motherboard,processor)...
I would try to attach another NC (with the same software level) and see what would happen.

First step is to tell what kind of WC7655 machine you have:
Patriot with software level 40.032.xxxxx or Lexington with 40.033.xxxxx ?
