    Workcentre 7545

    Hello,
I would want to have your advices about changing my old Phaser 7760 for a copier Workcentre 7545. Does the print quality would be the same ? I can have one with 400 000 copies, is it a lot for this machine ?

I hope that you could help me ...

The 7545 is a good business color machine but won't be as good as the Phaser 7760 as far as quality. If your Phaser is working well, I would keep it.

        Hello wilfrid and DFM914,
Thanks a lot for your advices... but the resolution of the 7545 is equivalent ... ? what others factors play a role in the print quality ? So do you mean that Phaser 7800 and Phaser 7500 don't produce same results as the 7760 ? do you mean that 7545 quality for text is not as good as the Phaser 7760 ?
Does this mean that laser is better than led technology ?

My Phaser is about 110 000 pages, it works well for the moment, but my concern is the toner and drum and other parts I don't know if it's the right word in english) continuity and price ! I hope that Xerox will produce toner and drum for a long time...

        regards

The Phaser 7760 features 1200 X 1200 dpi printing, Pantone compliant along with Phasermatch Color Management
The WorkCentre 7545 features 1200 X 2400 dpi printing, No Pantone, not much in color management. However the 7545 will print text quality very nicely. In other words the Phaser 7760 is best for graphic output, the WC7545 is best for business color output (text and / or photos) If I were going to print the bulk of my volume with text documents, I would go with the WC7545 simply because it offers more functionality (scan, fax etc)

As long as it has been looked after 400k is fine on one of these.

                thanks for your help...
I have just noticed that when I print a color text, the color doesn't not overlap exactly, what can I do to rectify it ?
All RegiCon adjustement tests were passed with only 1 to 4 clicks for adjustements... so what can I do ? do you have any idea ?

                regards

Try cleaning the density sensors for the transfer belt, those would usually cause a misalignment of colors.

I like the 7545's as a business color, but they don't print very good pictures IMHO, no matter what driver you use. Customers always complain that the output doesn't look like the picture on the computer screen, always looks darker or colors are different or washed out, even tho machine is in perfect calibration. Driver color corrections doesn't make much difference unless you sit and adjust ever color individually, then u might get close. Converting a file to a cmyk spec will usually help you get pretty close though, but RGB is not going to look right.

                    Hello,
thanks for your help, how I can do to clean density sensor for the transfer belt ?

I tried the WC 5845 at work and the print quality for text is exellent but the black is not darker as my 7760.

Well I think I'm going to keep my 7760 but only if can resolve my alignement problem ! The grid 1 dot gives me a very little missalignement of color which vary a little on the line...

here is an example of misalignment :

I have noticed another thing when I do the regicon IN/OUT Skew Adjustement :
The result doesn't indicates me the number of clicks for each color... does it mean there is a problem ?
