If it's an intermittent 9-342 and 9-343, try changing the FD interlock SW. Also check if the gears on the 2nd BTR are having good contact with the clutch. If still no difference, replace the 2nd BTR clutch

Xerox Docucolor 12 / Docucolor 1250 Error code 9-342

On the Xerox Docucolor 12 / Docucolor 1250 ,The Error code 9-342 usually means the 2nd BTR clutch has failed. Or the 2nd BTR assembly itself has failed.

Other things check:

Is there a grinding or rattling noise?

If it rattles as well it's likely to be the clutch.


You might get the code accompanied with a loud grinding noise which is usually the 2nd BTR Unit itself because the shaft that holds the drive gear on the 2nd BTR bends or the plastic molding wears out and the black gear loses drive causing the gears to bind.
