    Xerox 8700s error 094-700

    Good Morning,
    Xerox 8700s
This unit is driving us crazy in our shop.
Customer originally moved the unit without shutting down properly.
No ink spill, but 094-700 process drive error.
Replaced the process drive ass'y, printhead, drum camshaft., x axis motor
    Transfix camshaft looks ok
Timed the printer many, many , many times.
Still can't get rid of the error 094-700.

    Any suggestions?
    HELP please!

    Thanks,

    Ron

    Re: Xerox 8700s error 094-700

Usually this means there is still a bind in the head tilt mechanism, as well as timing must be perfect. I have a customer with thirty five 8900's and I can tell you what I have to do to solve this problem.

    1. Ensure the lower gear of the properly homed process drive interfaces with the DM camshaft gear while the gear is at it ~5:30 to 6:00 position. If the DM gear is at ~6:30 you will likely get the 94-700 error.
    2. On the process drive remove the plastic spacer on the swing assembly (it is just glued on, pry and peel off)
    3. Replace the left side head tilt solenoid
    4. Replace head tilt damper gears
    5. Replace head tilt gear train
    6. Replace head tilt gear

If you have done all of the above and still get the error, now we are in the binding bearing area (Royal PIA) DM Camshaft bearing Transfix Camshaft Bearing Bind in how the x-axis motor moves printhead.
These suggestions are what I have gone through to fix this error.
