you could extend the ringing detect tone by setting the NVM 823-050=1 to 15 sec(Mini Fax) for this model.good luck

If you haven't listened to the dial tone on the telephone line the fax is hooked up to, you might try that. It could be that there is excessive static on that line.

I do not know if the phone line voltages in your area are different from what we use in the US but the first thing I do for fax line problems when I come across them is to test the various phone line voltages to make sure they are within spec. The fax uses 2 wires, Tip & Ring. Here in the US we use the following spec:
          Across Tip & Ring: -50VDC
          Tip to xerox ground: <1VAC
          Ring to xerox ground: <1VAC
Loop current across Tip & Ring: 15 to 95 mA DC
Ring signal across Tip & Ring (while line is ringing) : 50-90VAC

Test for phone line noise. Use a standard hard wired telephone set to plug into the phone jack that the fax uses and make a phone call. With the phone plugged in, if you press any 1 # you should hear nothing at all. Any pop, hiss, crackle you hear is line noise and will cause fax failures.

The fax works best on a standard analog phone line.
If you use VoIP you can expect the fax to not work as dependable. You can get better results if you lower the initial baud rate the fax operates at.
The initial baud rate can be set in NVM and in Admin tools.
