    [Jamming] Xerox CC C123 - Jam 077-106 and error 024-910 / 024-911

    Hi

We have been asked to look at a CopyCentre C123 for a customer that has a couple of our other machines. Having not worked on Xerox since Olivetti had their abomination (C9832). Don't know where to go with this one. Please help. The machine has just had a new fuser, machine still produces this fault with new or old fuser installed.

If you do a single copy (either 1 sided or duplex) it will copy just fine. Once you start multiple copies the machine just jams.

The paper stops just as it is about to start to exit the fuser, it has not started to feed the second page yet.

At this stage we get jam code 077-106 (Fuser Exit Sensor On Jam). Gone through the troubleshooting in the service manual, exit sensor ok, main motor ok.

The strange thing is, once you clear this jam, a message appears on the screen "The paper size/orientation in Tray 1 is different from the selected size," (there is also a code 024-910 or 024-911, depending on which tray you use, which is a tray mismatch error) if you open and close the tray the error goes away, only to reappear next jam. The paper size in the trays is reading correctly.

With those 2 error codes, we checked the registration sensor, which works fine.

We have our suspicions that it could be registration clutch at fault.

Has anyone experienced a fault like this?

    Thanks

    J

Check , clean , replace feed rollers. Check, clean transport & registration rollers. Check, clean , replace registration clutch. It sounds like your paper jam is due to the machine expecting a certain size paper to be fed through the paper path but seeing another. If the paper size reading from the tray is correct but the paper passes too slow through the paper path, you can get this problem. I've only run into this once before on a Xerox D125. In my case it was only happening 1 to 3 times in a set of 1000. The final solution in my case was replacing the registration assembly.

Replace the reg clutch and file the "divit" at the base of the fuser exit switch where the lead edge of the paper hits it. Sounds like there are two issues.

Hi, I would like to ask you if you sorted this problem out? One of my clients has exactly same problem but on his xerox DC236, when printing multiple pages, this problem occur even the error with size of the papers.

I already replaced fuser but it didn't help.

          Hi

Just wanted to close this one off.

We replaced the takeaway roller clutch (p/n 121K32730), which didn't seem to make any improvement. So we ordered and fitted the registration clutch (p/n 21K32660), which did fix it.
