Riso RP 3500 Red Drum Master Disposal Error

I have a Riso RP 3500. Works great with my black print drum. I have a red drum, however, that is causing me some trouble. The machine can never properly dispose of the master from this drum. I don't think its a problem with the master disposal bands because it disposes of masters from my black drum just fine. Just this one drum, it can't.

So every time I try to make a master, it asks me to take the drum out and remove the old master manually, then when I pop it back in it says that there is a master misfeed, so I reset the master roll, then it tries again, and fails. The when I pull the drum out again, it seems like the new master it put on isn't fully stuck onto the drum. So then it tries to dispose of it again, and fails and I start the whole cycle over again. As a result, I can't ever get a master off of it. Twice I have somehow broken the cycle and gotten it to take a master and print. And when it does, it prints fine. But I can't seem to reliably repeat a process that breaks the cycle of incorrect disposal/master misfeed/failed new master.

When I open the top of the scanner bed to try to watch what is happening, it looks like maybe the clamp is not letting go properly? Normally on the black drum I can watch the drum cycle around and see the master get picked up and pulled off by the disposal unit, on the red drum, however, it looks like the end of the master is not correctly released and so it doesn't get grabbed by the disposal unit. The clamp collars are not broken. The clamp seems to work fine manually when I release the master by hand. On visual inspection, I can't see anything that looks broken on the clamp mechanism.

Is there anything else I can do to test this?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
