    Ricoh JP 8500 digital duplicator

My JP 8500 suddenly only shows Japanese on all console displays! Any help/suggestions to reset the displays to English? thanks.

Did you solve the issue already?
I could try to write down how we deal with our JP8000 that has the same problem. It alwas hast to be put back to another language at startup (at every reboot). First time it took us a weekend to find out how to change tha language in japaneese that nobody from us speaks.

May be that the 8000 and 8500 are quite similar?

First of all, I've only worked on Riso duplicators. So this might be just so much nonsense.
However, as for a very long time I worked on Ricoh MFPs, occasionally I come across information on their other products. And it appears you should be able to change the language your machine displays in "User Tools".
While I am not familiar with the display on that machine, on many Ricoh machines of that era the "button" to change the language in user tools was on the upper right hand side of the display. If that still works you will have to cycle through the available selections until you find one that is suitable.
Sorry if this was a waste of bandwidth.
