Riso SC7700 Computer Interface - What are these beeps?

Hi Folks,

I am trying to troubleshoot a SC7700 for my GR3750. According to the troubleshooting manual, it vaguely states:
If all is okay a short tone will be heard and the boot-up sequence will continue. However if the motherboard detects an error the speaker will sound with several 'beeps'. In this case the boot-up will halt.



So what I am trying to figure out is when I turn my unit on, is this an "all is ok sound" or the "error" sound?

Can anyone with a SC7700 or SC7900 confirm what their startup beep sounds like?

Is mine an OK beep or an error beep? Any help is appreciated! Thanks (beep)!

Mine just Beeps once! This seems like 4 beeps in a row?

I eventually discovered my model of GR3750 was not compatible with the SC7700 interface, hence the multiple beeps.

Hello,

Old subject, but so actual for me. About the sound, my SC7700 are beeping 4 times in a row, but it is working just fine with my GR3770.
However, i heard that the hard drive of the SC7700 may just die one day (25 years old) .. So i am looking for an other RIP, or eventually make a perfect copy of mine.
