Weird tearing of masters due to separator?

So this is a bit of a bummer. When I get to about 70+ prints on my violet drum I get this tearing on the master. The result is a lot of ink spillage on the page. I'm pretty sure it's because of the orange separator nozzle that's positioned right at this spot. Any advice or ideas as to how I can fix this? I'm wondering if it it's a simple positioning adjustment or maybe a timing issue.

Any advice or help would be much appreciated!

What model machine are you referring too ?

Is the scratch dead center of the drum/print ?

Appears to be the drum separator pawl/pick off...

Hi, thanks for the reply. It's an MZ990, and yes the scratch is dead center. I'm 100% sure it's the separator, I figure it's somehow positioned too closely to the drum.

Ok, fixed this one myself. since it was just an issue of the separator not clearing the drum by a few mm, I just forced the separator itself down just a wee bit by bending it. It's plastic so I heated it up a little by pressing it against a hot lamp to make it more malleable. Seems to be working now!
