The Service Manual of my Ricoh JP8000, which is the Ricoh Model of your machine, tells it has something to do with the master exit section. The "Pressure Plate" there is locked somehow. Either it is a defective sensor, or a defective motor, and in best case you just got a Master Jam at the exit section/pressure plate. See the ServiceManual at pages 2-25/2-89/4-9, … .
