have a Riso RZ 390. error code 6-31-916 pops up immediately after a print run or if the machine sits idle. can only get rid of it by turning the machine off. don't know if it's related, but the lower few inches of target image won't show up on the master. thanks in advance.

Are you sure it's 6-31-916? Could it be B-31-916? If so in the manual that code is:
Error Type B31 [Network cable not connected]
Description
B31-xxx
!! No Linked Printer Detected !!
Check Cable Connection and Power Supply for Linked Printer
To reset
display
Press Reset Key and connect the network cable.
Error Point Error Conditions
916 Network cable is not connected when the machine is powered ON.
That the only mention of 916 in the manual.
