[Misc] Lubricant after full Riso drum clean?

I'm slowly going through a bunch of old Riso drums (RP) and giving them full cleans (to remove caked up ink and/or changing inks). I'm primarily using parts cleaner, mineral spirits, wd-40 and denatured alcohol.

I cannot find any mention in my technical manual (for an RP3700) or on this forum of re-lubricating any of the metal parts. I'm curious if I should be, specifically ones that are metal to metal AND come into direct contact with ink (like the gear inside of the ink pump unit, image below).

Should I be lubricating any of these parts? And are there any parts in general that need to be re-lubricated after a cleaning or part of regular maintenance?

And, if so, what type of lubricant(s) should I be using?

    Thanks!

If if had grease on it would not hurt to grease is a bit.
Metal on metal wheel bearing grease should be good.
On plastic use that white expensive stuff can recall the name wheel bearing grease could be bad for plastic.
In the case of the pump, i would prime it with ink before running it.
    Whatever

This is very helpful, I wouldn't have thought to have done this.

In addition to priming the pump, should I grease the metal on metal components inside the pump (pictured in OP)? I couldn't tell if there was grease or not because of all of the old ink inside.

      Thanks again!

Would not think so, but wait for more comments.
Think the grease would just get mixed in with the ink and pumped out.

The drive end should have grease somewhere, but if you did not strip to clean there then it should be ok.
        Whatever
