RC6300 Auto Idle or Power Off

Hey y'all, I've just put some work into getting an old RC6300 up and printing again, and am stoked to use it for as long as it'll last. The thing is coming up on 30 soon, and I have a constant 'replace battery' message I don't imagine I can fix, so I'm not expecting too much. Still, I want to treat this thing right to keep it going.

This is kind of a basic question, but is it better for the printer to keep it on in auto idle mode when not in use (most of the time), or to keep it switched off until I need to use it? I imagine turning it on takes some work from the machine, but I also don't know how tough on the ailing battery auto idle mode might be. I'd appreciate any insights!

Pretty sure the battery is just a key fob type battery on the main board if I remember right. I think it just keeps some default settings. Either way good luck with that old thing. Might as well just keep the power off when not using, it will idle when you turn it on.
