RICOH DD6650 Won't print from Mac

    Hi everyone,

We've installed a second hand priport DD 6650 connect to a mac via usb. We have installed the postscript board as suggested by manufacturer. However when you try and send a print job the data light will constantly flash and not print.

    Any help would be appreciated

Was the proper PPD installer file for the OSX version on the Mac?

Is the USB port enabled for printing in the Service Program?

Yep the correct ppd installer was downloaded and installed.
The USB does work from my Windows laptop.
The other weird thing is that the ethernet port doesn't seem to work. Connected it both to the network and to my laptop you only get an steady orange light. Changed the network speed on the machine but nothing works. This is why I'm using USB.

When installing the postscript board I noticed an extra memory slot. Would this need to be installed possibly?

Try turning on the ethernet port in Service Program. SP5985-001 There qare also a number of settings in User Tools that can affect network function. If there is a setting for IEEE802.11 it must not be enabled as it turns off the normal function of the ethernet port.

When using the USB port, if the DD 6650 is set to Auto Detect the print language in the control panel it will recognize your Windows laptop but not the Mac. From the operator instruction manual.
When printing with a USB connection to a Macintosh computer, the printer language does not
change automatically. Use the control panel on this machine to change the printer language to
[Auto Detect] or [PS] before printing

Thanks for the info. I'm probably being blind but looking at the operation instructions I can't see anything on what you've described.

One was running catalina, the other is unsupported anyway as its 10.6 which isn't available on ricoh driver page.
The one running Catalina is the one I'm trying to get working.

Tried doing all the thi g suggested but can't find anything relating to this. Under sp mode I tried the sp5985-001 but it doesn't recognise it. Tried looking for the ieee 802.11 setting under user tool but can't find it anywhere.
And can't see anything about auto detect.
Starting to think it's problem with the controller board maybe.

                  Any ideas?

Rude. Well we aren't a Ricoh dealer, we've just inherited this machine from somewhere. Unfortunately iv had the jolly job of trying to sort it out after it was sold.
