If you remove the drum unit you should be able to access the pressing roller to clean it with no problem.

But for full bleed black like your samples I would say it was more a function of ink starvation.

yeah so i cleaned the pressure roller REALLY good.. but i could only access one side of it... and i don't think it helped much. is there a way to disengage the roller and get it to spin freely without taking everything a part?

Is this how to disengage it?

        6.12.5 GAPADJUSTMENTBETWEENPAPERPICK-OFFPLATEAND PRESSURE CYLINDER
        PURPOSE: Toensuresmoothpaperfeedtothepaperdeliveryunit
        1.7~2.5 mm

        PAPER DELIVERY SECTION

        [A]

        1. Remove the drum.

        1. Apply the printing pressure as follows. (Push the pressure cylinder up to theprinting position.)
          1) Access SP 5-064-2, and select ìONî for the printing pressure releasesolenoid.
          2) Leave SP mode.
        2. Adjust the clearance between the paper pick-off plate [A] and the surface of thepressure cylinder until it is 1.7~2.5 mm (loosen the 2 screws).

CAUTION: Be sure to perform this adjustment after pushing the pressure cylinderup to the printing position. If the gap is adjusted with the pressurecylinder in the non-printing position, the paper pick-off plate willdamage the pressure cylinder when the printing pressure is applied andthe pressure cylinder is pushed up, because the gap will be too small.

If you turn the pressure release solenoids with the drum removed it roller will come to the full up position where you should be able to rotate it. You will have to push both ends back down until the latch before installing the drum.
