Color change GR3770 drum

Greetings,

Can anyone explain to me how to change the color of a GR drum? I would like to go from red to black. I tried changing the DIP switches like we used to do in the old days but I got a t4 error and had to go through a bunch of stuff to get another drum back in the machine.

Also I have several different drums so am labeled FR/GR drum and one just GR drum. Is there any difference between these?

You have dip switch 5 on and all others off?That should tell it there is a color drum installed.Although this is from a GR manual and not a 3770 manual which is somewhat different i believe.But should work for the drum.
Only the clamp is different from the Fr and Gr series.

Colour change

Been a while since I've worked on these. The 3770 uses HD ink for the black, and I seem to remember that the ink bottle switch mech. inside the drum is different. Not too sure you can convert the colour drum to black, whereas you can easily change between the colours. Then again, it's been a while so I could be wrong, just something in the back of the mind that makes me think this though
