    RP3700 coupling gear slightly off

I have a RP3700 and it seems that the coupling gear in the back of the inside of the machine (the one with a slot in the middle that connects to the drum) is off just a little bit. When I put a drum in the machine, it often won't go in unless I turn this gear very slightly (usually less than 1/4") to the right. After that everything seems to work fine until I need to put another drum in, and the same thing happens again. Is this a timing issue? The machine has been timed, and last time I had a tech look at it it seemed that everything was in alignment. Any advice would be much appreciated.

the lever that locks the drum into place on the front of the drum may be bent. i have see this cause the issue. also there is a way to adjust the home position of the drum. on the main drive gear on the back of the machine there are 5 screws to loosen and you can move the postion to the left or the right. your tech should be able to accomplish this

The machine is set up (keyed) for the black drum. I believe there is a test mode for fine adjusting each color drums home position. It has been a while since I have had to do this.

Thank you very much for your replies. I will have my tech look at this next time he comes out. In the meantime, is it harmful to the machine in any way to do the slight adjustment by hand before putting the drum in each time?

Only move it a bit. If you go a full rotation REAL BAD things will happen.
