False error reading on RP 3700 -'open front door and remove non-existent master'

I have several colour drums on my RP3700.

For some strange reason, the yellow drum only is giving me these false readings hence is not allowing me to cut a new master. There is no master on my drum, not even a speck of one. The new master sometimes gets made but only holds in the Riso ie I can see it when I rewind the master roll.

I have done the usual things: opened and shut things, wiped the drum, switched on and off, emptied the master output box, put in different drums and then tried again. it still won't work. Any ideas please?

What I did when I had a very similar problem with a drum on my RP 3105 (coincidentally the yellow one) was to cut off about 20" of master material and manually attach it to the drum myself. Then I reset the machine and let it go throw the motions of kicking off my "fake" master and applying a new one itself. It took a few tries, but eventually it worked like a charm.

    Good luck!

I had the same but with the red drum.I entered the service menu and I made a reset to factory setings. It worked after this.
