    GR1700 shrunk prints

I've got a few of these still in the field with shrunk printed due to bloated/expanded master write rollers. On the ones with only a doc feeder and no platen, I've been able to adjust SW3 on the image process board to compensate but I'm out of adjustment on some of them. Unfortunately there is zero availability of new write rollers and sales has not been able to upgrade these units.

Anyone else have any tricks to resolve this issue?

clean the write rollers they have a lot of wax buildup from the masters which will shrink the image

Yes, the write roller and metal rollers are clean. As stated in the original post, I'm only adjusting the potentiometer after all else is failed after cleaning write & ADF rollers and checking pulley set screws. Sadly, the GR's work too well and no one seems to want to get rid of them until they have to be planted.

I will have to talk to the boss to see if we can contact that gentleman in OK about the rollers. Thanks for the info!

          Hi,

I'm having the same problem of shrunk prints on my gr3700. I'd love to know the procedure for cleaning write rollers please.

Also, a friend had a similar machine years ago and said there was a setting on her's that did something along the lines of shrinking the print to fit the printable area. She said she turned it off. Is that possible for a gr3700?

          Thanks
