    SC3000 Mac compatible?

    Hi,

I just got a SC3000 rip for my GR3770. I was wondering if there are any mac drivers or ways of getting them to work with OSX? It's not the end of the world if I can't as I can use a friends laptop but it would be nice to have everything running from my own computer.

    Many thanks

although it said that it will work, you will not be happy with it. one it is super slow. two the SC-3000 is a GDI rip. the graphics that will print to your Risograph will look very blocky and have poor quality. if you get it printing nice please tell me how. i have tried many times, but on my end I had to trade up the people using a MAC to a post script RIP ( SC-7700 ) so they would be happy and not kill the sales man that sold it to them in the first place.

I really hope that's not the case with the one I just got! Are you talking about using it with a MAC or just using that RIP with that machine from a windows?

The guy I got it off used it with the exact same machine as me, for years, so I doubt he would have used it if it was worse than using the scanner. He said it was much better quality, which I guess he would if he was selling it to me, but I doubt he would have used it for years if it made things worse. If it's a case of using it with a windows machine to get good quality then I'm happy to do that.

Anyone else have any experience of reduced image quality and slow response using this RIP and a GR3770?

i am only talking on a MAC. it is a gdi rip the processing will be dependent on your computer. if you have a fast computer with enough ram you will not have many issues coming from windows. so it will not be slow.

I spent months trying to get a 3500 working on a Mac (os x, os 9) to no success. The farthest I got was getting the RIP driver loaded. The 7700 that Joel sold me on the other hand..
