We are working on a duplo dp-j450 with the optional usb interface for printing. this machine is going out to a customer's office with at lease three computers that would like to print to it and we would like to set it up on a CAT5 to USB 2.0 Print Server (TRENDnet print server: Model TE100-P1U, 1-port print server, Turns a standalone USB printer into a Shared Network Resource). While setting the duplo up with the print server in our office i found a problem that i can't quite figure out, first i would install the print driver for the duplicator and then i would install the server utility, assign the server a new ip address then assign the port that the duplicator is using to the server utility. once the set up is complete i pull up the interface in our web browser and in the server interface i would check the printer status, make sure the duplicator is listed (and it is listed) then i would send a test print and the duplicator will print just fine. the problem comes in when i turn off the duplicator. when i turn the duplicator back on i can not print anymore, the printer status would say offline and the print server can not locate the duplicator. the only resolution to this is to unplug the USB cable on the print server, plug it back in and refresh the print server. I also tried this on a desktop samsung usb printer, followed the same exact steps set everything up exactly the same way and on the samsung i can turn it off, turn it on, unplug it multiple times and i can print to it every single time and the print server will discover it every single time also. any resolutions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
