Any suggestion on how to solve constant replace ink bottle message. Would replace with new ink cartridge and after about 50 prints replace ink bottle message would show.

Upgrade firmware to latest. V 2.14

Get a new bottle of ink from a different lot number. Bad plunger seal or RF tag from old (years old) ink tubes that were found in the back cupboard.

Otherwise going into the drum for inking motor, squeegee gear or something else.

I've upgraded all of my EZ-RZ machines, they still do this . Some machines do it worse than others, found no cure yet.

How many units are you having this problem with? Both RZ and EZ? Have you checked and tried different lot numbers of ink? Was all this ink shipped at the same time (gotten damaged in shipping?)

If you are sure it is not the ink, then it's something in the drum(s). One-way squeege gear, ink pump, ink ant. board. or drum connector are possibilities.

          Is it genuine RISO ink?

Genuine Riso inks. Yes tried inks from different lots. I also replaced the owc gear.

Ok...let see if we can seperate the problem. It is either the drum, ink or machine. From the answers you've given, lets say it is not the ink. Have you tried swapping out an "erroring" drum with a good drum? Then try the "errored" drum in another machine?

I've tried all of that, you can swap out the ink from one machine to another, they run fine till they really run out of ink. I also do this with the masters, they do this randomly too.

As for the masters message, open the master making unit, loosen the two screws that hold the left side master roll flange that has the RF tag reader. Gently tap the RF tag reader assy with the handle of your screw driver and tighten down screws in the center the openings.

As for the ink I've only run into an occasional bottle that was usually found in the back of a customers storage spot and it would be stamped 2007 or something old like that. Or had been dropped on the switch ribs on the side of the bottle. Usually at a low volume location does this occur at.

Are you/they storing it cap down? I don't run into as many of the "old air pockets" calls as I used to on the old RA/GR's.

                        Re: RZ220 Replace ink bottle

I have run into this problem a few times. Every time I've run into the problem it is the inking hose running from the ink tube to the inking motor. Give the hose a squeeze and see if it's very soft. I have had one hose with a small split and wouldn't feed ink due the the air leak and two that were just collapsing under the vacuum of feeding ink.

                        Hope it helps...
