    GR3770 Scanning or thermal issue?

    2011-12-15 14.09.23.jpgHi,
We have a GR3770 and it has just developed a new problem. I had just replaced the master roll and removed an old master that was caught on the small rollers you can see when the top is up. After I lowered the top and made a new master the image shows a blank line running right through it. Sort of like what you would get if a small part of the print head was dead. You can see in the attached photo the blank area. I outlined it with the pen marks on one copy. I cleaned the thermal print head and also cleaned the scanner bar and I still get the blank 'line'. Any thoughts??
    Thanks!

Sometimes the TPH will give you black lines when going bad, so I suggest you make an internal print with Test Mode 120, checkerboard pattern. If you still have the void then it's the TPH, if not then something in the scanning most likely scanner cable. Good luck.
