    Riso RA4050 Cutting multiple masters.

Hi to all there, There's this old riso ra 4050 customer says it cuts multiple masters instead of one when making master. Also the copies is freaked with lines. Machine is 500km away from my work station, in fact in a neighboring country. Any tip from you guyz is appreciated.

Sounds like the master cutter motor is cycling more than once cutting of little strips. There is a microswitch that is activated by a cam that controls motor on/off. Check the switch for proper position and operation (continuity). The white streaks could be caused by buildup on the thermal head. I clean these by gently wiping with a soft cloth and alcohol. Make sure scanner glass is clean, too, as it will also cause black streaks if dirty.

Might try a memory reset - code 90 in service mode, or if you're lazy like me just turn on the machine while holding down the reset key, keep holding it down until the control panel display comes up or the motor sounds stop.
Also, check the rollers in the master making area to see if they rotate freely, even a little bit. If so, the roller drive pulley setscrews are loose and will cause all manner of irritation.
The lines sound like a wrinkled master, which might be caused by a worn write roller or bad master brakes. New write rollers for the RA series are no longer available from Riso, so if that's the case you might be done, although, while I've never tried it before I have heard that trimming away at the outer edges of the write roller might work. As for the brakes, you might try putting electrical tape underneath the master roll flanges, that used to help.
Finally, check to see the master cutter area is free of the unremoved master strips of doom. When I actively worked on the RA series back in the day that was enough of a problem that I showed users how to do that by running a piece of paper folded in half with the corners dogeared under the green films that the master material is loaded under.
Finally, as it sounds like you're going to be on a massive road trip, if you can do it safely, keep an eye on the scenery. There might be something neat to see there, or at least you'll have some war stories to share with your fellow techs when you get back.

Thank you all guyz for your wonderful suggestions and contributions. Indeed I will keep you informed about my findings after tackling the work. As Iowatech has noted, it is quite along arduous and tiresome, 2day journey into a foreign land, I have been there though a number of times, the infrastructure there is relatively poor compared to that in my country, especially the roads being a non-all weather and in sorry state. However, the customer form a big part of my customer base as they have over ten machines, especially copiers spread in different locations under their administration. Their pay is equally very good, and they look after us very well when we are there, the whole assignment including accommodation and travel expenses is footed by their organization.
