    [Jamming] RN2235ui Continues to jam...

I have an RN2235 that has developed an jamming problem. Here is the process:

Place new original and go to make master.

A34-218 error. Rewind Master roll and reset master. Rewind that.

A05-312 error. Master jammed in disposal unit. Remove very crumpled master.

A04-304 error. Master disposal error. Pull out print drum. No master. Close unit door.

    Press start key.

    Resuming operation (rat runs around)

    Ready to make master.

    Press start.

Go through the whole darn thing again...

    Help

Very likely the problem is with the master disposal unit; it uses o-rings that will stretch, slip, break, and cause many problems.

Are we talking all the rubber loops that feed the rollers? Thats where the master get all wrinkled and jammed.

How do I remove that unit to clean and/or replace the o rings?

Where can I buy the o rings?

      Thanks

      Bob

There are 8 of one belt and 4 of another for a total of 12. If I can get 2 years out of them that is a plus. Depending on humidity and temperature that the machine is in they last different, sometimes only a year in un-airconditioned catholic schools. It takes a lot of covers and a little bit of know how to pull the disposal unit out and replace the belts.

I'd recommend replacing all 12 at once.

Is there a place to order these? Or do you know the size so I can order these from an industrial supply place?

It looks like a bit of a job to get the disposal unit out. Is it easier to get out by taking off the scanner table first?

Looking in this unit there is a lot of ink on everything...so getting it out and cleaning the whole thing is my idea. I'm not afraid to dive into this machine. I have alot of experience working on copiers. Lately I do most of my work on large format printers.

          Thanks

            4 of 628-21521-004 Transfer Belt
            8 of 640-60001-004 Transfer Belt

If you get a service manual it will take you step by step. I can tell you the scanner does not need to be removed. Got a local Riso dealer? If not PM me. Aftermarket I'd don't deal with. Even with new belts ink does get into a lot of places of the disposal unit so that is common.

Good luck, you will get your hands dirty
