Hi!
I recently had a yellow drum for my MZ 790u which began telling me to replace the ink cartridge despite having a 3/4 full tube in it. I tried changing out to a fresh tube, but the drum just dried up completely while still asking for the ink tube to be replaced. I've given the drum to a local tech who cleaned it out and also replaced the chip (?) and it's still not working! The tech said it's not worth putting any more work into it so it seems I'm going to have to find a new yellow drum...
Now today, the same thing has started happening to my Bright Red drum! It says replace ink cartridge even though I have 2 new ink tubes that came from Riso. I've been taking the tube out and pushing the plunger forward to advance the ink to the nozzle and also to push out any pockets of air but as soon as I put it back into the drum it says replace ink cartridge. I ran maybe a 1200 prints with it yesterday and having been running it everyday for the past week so it's not like it's just been sitting around...
Has anyone ever dealt with a problem like this?
