    riso rc6300 Master Mis-feed

    hi all

I have a riso RC6300, old I know, but a real workhorse that has never had any serious problems and a really low copy count. However, I keep getting an error that the masters have mis-feed, and have been trying to fix but with no avail. I am doing everything "right" but I'm not sure what is going wrong...

Does anyone have an old manual for this machine? Or any tips? I know they can be quite finicky.

    thanks
    Megan

As far as manuals go, you can't go wrong with justmanuals (Just Manuals, The Internet's largest selection of manuals ~ Instant Downloads) . He has been doing that for quite some time, and his website is quite comprehensive.
That being said, you might want to pull the right hand front cover off and take a look at the drive pulleys there. If threadlock compound hasn't been applied to the setscrews that hold those pulleys in place, those setscrews can back out causing the pulleys to not drive the master feed rollers properly.
Hopefully this isn't the case, but on older machines like this the write roller (the roller under the thermal head) can wear out, in which case your machine is probably done.
Finally, you should make sure you are not encountering the UNREMOVED MASTER STRIPS OF DOOOOOM!!!! Sometimes unremoved strips of master material can get caught in the master cutter area and cause master feed errors, so you should look very carefully at that.
