error message 'wrong ink cartridge installed'

Hi,
I recently bought a Riso GR3750 from ebay.
It came with a blue drum and a black drum.
However, the previous owner put a black ink cartridge into the blue drum
and now when we insert blue ink it says 'wrong ink cartridge installed'.
Is there any way of changing it back to blue?

most likely - yes - but im no expert... maybe a riso tech could help you out?

You need to change the dip switch settings on the drum control board on the drum.
Remove the drum from the RISO. The board is located behind the front cover of the drum(4 screws). Change switch #5 to ON. Do not change any other switches, you will confuse the machine. Reattach cover & reinstall in RISO. Should show up as color drum on screen.

I suggest getting service manuals from Justmanuals.com. But warning, the GR series is obsolete and difficult to get may parts for. Many RISO dealers will not work on GRs because of this.

Hi!
I have the same problem on my GR drum, the only thing is that my drum already has the 5 switched on. Did your drum have any other switch turned on besides the 5? The drum is a bright red drum and when I put in GR bright red colour the display says "wrong cartridge installed".

What model GR do you have? Also which drum controller board is in the drum, pcb2 or pcb3?
