replacing ink cartridge error when ink tube is full rz 310

    Hi,

I have a rz 310 and i am getting an error with my green drum that the ink cartridge needs to be replaced when there is plenty of ink inside... --- i tried reprogramming the drum and ran the auto-fill process but to no avail... it wont seem to ink up the drum anymore...

any advice or is my drum dead?

    Best,

Does this problem happen with different tubes of green ink? We has seen many ink tubes where the RF tag fails, if you have not tried a different tube of ink I would start there....

Could be that you stored the ink tube wrong. On RZ ink tubes, there is a RFID chip that stores the amount of time that the ink pump runs. Normally, that is a good thing as it is what triggers the flashing "replace ink" indicator that allows users of the machine enough time to order new ink before the machine runs out.
Unfortunately, it isn't able to tell the difference between if the ink pump is pumping ink or air, and if you store your ink tubes cap up they will get quite a bit of air in them. And then you will have an unusable ink tube that still has a good deal of ink in it.
So if space permits, store your ink tubes cap down. Or at least push the air out of the ink tube before you put it in the drum.
