Riso RP 3100 UI - Ink faulty / error T24-539

I need help with the print quality on my Riso.

The black ink is very faulty. A lot of the are supposed to be imprinted on, are blank.

The red is even worse. Only about 2% of what submit to print actually gets on the paper. The red is actually givin an erro code T24-539.

Please let me know if anyone know what i can do to fix it.

    Thanks

The T24-539 is an ink motor error, most likely the motor is shot. If you can get a new one motor (obsoleted, parts discontinued) replaced it. As for the black, have you checked the impression roller for ink build up? Or uneven wear? Good luck.

Or maybe it is just dried in. You can check it by "cleaning" the drum from the outside. Take the drum (without master on it) and spray WD40 oil on the screen surface. You can also rub a little with a paper cloth. Not too much pressure!

After that, try to print, it should be better. If there is dryed ink inside the drum and not only on the outer silk screen you have to disassemble the drum.

I can now speak only for my RN2500, but there were only a few screws to remove. Best you look for the exploded assembly drawing (with a little search you get most manuals for free in the web or ask the Riso support, they may help also) for your Riso first, so you don't remove too much.

Pay attention it is a big mess with the colour! Best to do it outside or a place you can "leave inkspots" ;-)

To clean the drum I used diesel-oil, it is the cheapest solution for this job. I needed about 1-2 liter to get my drum clean. I brushed my silkscreen with a old brush in a basin with some diesel, so it was almiost like new after that.
But be carefull not to fold/break the silk!

Don't forget to wear gloves and take with you lots of old newspapers and paper cloth.
