This is a sensor problem on my GR3750. The pressure control motor is running fine. The PRP led does not turn on and off when the light path is closed and opened. I tested with another working sensor-same problem. I bent the wires to the sensor near the connector and discovered this was the problem. There seems to be a broken wire near the connector. My question is, Is it possible to pull out the wires from the connector, cut off the problematic area and reconnect to the same connector? Or how may I handle this problem.

Re: GR 3750 T11 CALL SERVICE
I just reread your initial post, and if there is not enough wire sticking out of the connector my answer won't work. So you may need to take the connector apart. It likely is possible, but if possible try to avoid it.
Anyway, there should be slots on one of the wide sides of that kind of connector. Gently push and pull the wires while looking in the slots, you should see tiny metal tabs sticking up a little bit. Those tabs are what hold that actual metal connecting parts inside the plastic shell of the connector. Take a very small jewelers screwdriver and gently press the tab until it is flush with the rest of the metal and the connector should come apart and you can solder the broken wire back together.
Perils of disassembling connectors:
The metal parts of that kind of connector depend on a rather precise form to connect to the pins on the sensor, so if anything other than the tab gets bent, you're done.
The tab is fragile, and if bent too far it will break off, and then you're probably done.
If you use too big of a screwdriver, the plastic part of the connector that the tab normally engages can become deformed, and then again you are probably done.
There are most likely other perils, but those were the main ones that caused me stress.
So if you must disassemble the connector, be very careful and take your time.Comment

Re: GR 3750 T11 CALL SERVICE
To avoid getting done, I found a similar connector on my old scrap laserjet printer. I cut it off with sufficient wire to join to the GR wires. Thanks for your connector repair tutorial. I will now try to follow your advice on the discarded connector to get experience.Comment
