    Riso 990 U

Hello Everybody, We have a Riso 990 with several drums and currently our blue drum (drum with the blue ink installed) can only print letter size and not legal size like our black drum. The issue is that we have to print envelops with blue ink and the letter size is not large enough to put a complete return address on because the address is close to the edge of the paper. We can print these all day with the black drum but not the blue one. My question is can the paper size on the drum be changed in any way? and If not can I install the blue ink cylinder into the black drum or will that cause issues? Thanks so much

The 990 will print up to Ledger (11x17) paper. What size envelopes are you trying to run? If only #10's then put letter size paper in the tray (or ledger if larger). When you make a master for you envelope job using the blue drum place paper in the tray.

Thanks for the response 20gauge. When I install the drum the machine only lets me choose letter size. Can the drum itself be adjusted? Thanks

I'm curious, where did you get that blue drum from?
It sounds like that isn't a proper drum for that machine. At least not for what you want to use the drum for.

Ya what Iowa said. Will it make a master or throw a code? If you compared the master on the black drum and the blue drum are they the same size (length)?

Thanks for the responses, We got the drums with the machine. another printer was going out of business and they gave it to us a couple years ago. The sizes of the dums ar identical infact they both have the same serial number. The red one seems to have a metal strip or something that stops the master from continuing on the roll like it does on the back one. I tried to show it in the pictures. the machine displays no errors it just only lets me select letter size when i inset the drum.

              :O

Photo No: 3! A rare Letter-A4 only drum, for RZ9,

Yep, you can only print in letter, landscape mode, the machine gives you a prompt to change from Ledger to letter when you change the drum. You save about 33 percent per master roll if you only make letter copies.

It cannot be changed to ledger. :S But it can be changed to any color/black.

Well that's good news. Are you referring to when I restart the machine in test mode in order to switch out the drum? Thanks

Very rare short master drum, nice. You may want to look into how to change drum colors. It's not something that you want to do on a daily basis. Takes about 1/3 a tube of ink and at least a ream of paper to do it quickly. Just a heads up

That's fine with me we have plenty of ink and paper plus a second bw drum that I can change over. I just don't have any clear step by step instruction. Do you know where I can find them? Thanks

Just use the blue ink you want instead of black
