I have a customer that has a RP 3105 who needs some drums. I have access to some RP 3700 drums but I know they won't work because RP 3700 is HD Ink. my question is, shouldn't I be able to convert a drum to 3105 if I replace the board and the ink tank? Also, I have been told that the color drums are interchangeable but have not confirmed that yet. Any insight into this? Thanks for your help.

With the RP line RISO got tough on drum interchangeably. Any color drum can be used in any RP as a color drum only. HD black can only be used in the 3700, no conversion to regular black or reverse capable. You might be able to change all the different parts if you have the time to and the patients to get inky. But you got to get the parts might be a nightmare with the RP obsolete and parts out of stock. Have you tried eBay for drums?
