Blank Prints and ink overflow error on a RZ

Good day, I need some help with a riso rz390 that is having blank prints. I thought there was not enough
ink on drum and force ink to be added and now I am getting an ink overflow error and no printing.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

You will have to clean the ink overflow sensor located in the drum unit by the squeegee roller. Take lots of gloves.

How many prints per master do you make? If you make less than twenty prints per master, the drum will be depleted of ink faster than the ink pump can supply it.
Also, if the machine is unused for a while you will need to make sure it idles properly before you make a master.
"force ink" - don't use that unless you open the drum and see that the ink bead isn't there. Stupid and wrong things will happen otherwise.

Thanks Iowatech I found that out the hard way.

The thermal head is working the masters has image.

After cleaning the overflow sensor any thoughts on how to fix blank prints?

Yeah, I learned that the hard way too.
As far as the blank prints go, I'd suggest starting with something from the setup instructions for new inkless drums: run a bunch of prints and let the mechanism take care of itself. On a new inkless drum, Riso recommends running a ream of paper through the machine to make sure it is inked properly, but I've found that 100 - 200 prints are usually enough. You can even put a confidential master on the drum for this so you don't waste paper.

Thanks for the help, after cleaning the over flow sensor and reassembling, machine begin to work properly.
I think the problem was the pressure roll not being in position for some reason.

We are the largest supplier of USED RISO drums (over 400 in stock) and spare PARTS (most models) in the U.S.

We take NON-working drums in on TRADE. The ink over flow error is an hour and a half job for a seasoned Riso technician &
should not be attempted by someone who is not mechanically inclined.

Let us know if we can help.
