RZ 370 EP - Advice needed.

Hi I have been using A4 Risos (Currently the RZ200ep) for a number of years and now have been offered the RZ370ep - as we are a parish - this could be helpful. Where I need advice is concerning the masters. I see that it has an A3 master feed and have been told it can print A4. How does this happen?

The imaged area on the drum/ master will match the original that is scanned and paper size in the feed tray. For example, if you place A4 in the feed and on the glass to scan, only that area is burned on the master. Does that make sense?

Earlier versions of A3 (11 x17) Risographs would offer an A4 drum option, this drum would allow the master to be cut off short, to "flap" at the trail edge, in order to acomplish a letter size print run without using up a full 17 inch master. With the Riso product, the cost of the master material is a very big factor, so the preservation of master material is always at the forefront. If you have a Riso that produces 11 x 17 size prints, you can easily print on only half of the drum, but if the master is wrapping around the whole circumference, you are disposing a significant amount of unused master material every time you run a A4 size job.
