    Ris MZ990 print cylinder lock

A used (new to us) print cylinder came in from Ebay.

Nobody noticed that there was no ink tube in the cylinder and put it in the machine.

Now I can't remove the cylinder. Error message tells me to put in a tube of ink. I don't have a tube that color. I tried a tube of a different color (black), but it tells me there is a tube mismatch.

How can I manually, disengage the cylinder lock, to remove the cylinder?

That's weird, just missing the ink tube shouldn't prevent you from removing the drum.
These might be the stupidest questions ever asked by anyone on Earth, but what happens when you try the drum release button? Can you remove the other drum then?
(This one might be the worst, as there are plenty of threads that tell how to reset Risos in the duplicator part of CTN that you've probably already read.) Have you tried resetting your machine? If there has been energetic storms or construction in the area that's something I would try (at least out here on the periphery construction and energetic storms seem to be rather common this time of year).
Sorry for asking questions, as I imagine you are rather anxious to get your machine running properly. But I can't see your machine, and as such I don't have enough information to give you a proper suggestion. Also I have found that just blurting out technical information can sometimes make a problem worse, and who wants that?

OK, the problem is solved (but I don't know why).

      1) Yes, I pressed the drum release button, and Yes the second drum did release.
      2) Yes, I reset the machine, this didn't solve it.
      3) No, no storms or construction
      4) Then I tried putting in an empty black tube, still no luck.
      5) Later, I tried the empty tube again, this time SUCCESS!

      Thanks for the reply,

Glad to hear you got the drum out of the machine, and thanks for telling us about it!
I guess that means my main fear of telling you how to manually release the drum was unfounded. The main reason that a Riso won't release the drum is because the drum is not at home position. Even though I should have known better, I have used the manual drum release when the drum in an older Riso was not at home position at least once, and I found the following period of time the exact opposite of delightful.
