Anyone dabble in the Field Service of POS, CCTV, VOIP, etc ??

I am assuming job description and pay is damn similar to office equipment but I am willing to hear it's much better.

working cctv and security is better working conditions but the pay isnt as good ive been a financial services security tech and do much better working on copy machines

I once interviewed for a job working on POS equipment (cash registers, basically). From what the interviewer said it seems a lot easier than fixing copiers. Basically you just replace units in the field and then work on them later in the office. That could be just that one company though, I didn't get the job, thank God.

I did POS/cash registers for 10 years.
On call pretty much 24/7/365, when a machine went down the pager would go nuts.
I also did 3rd party for a couple of other companies with POS systems, I had 3 pagers and 1 cell phone.
If I wasn't on the road to a client, my time was on the phone.
ultimately the decision is yours, but I wouldn't do it again for any amount of money.
