Brother MFC-L8690cdw - Scan problem

Hello,

I'm having a problem with my Brother MFC-8690CDW where some of the scans from the document feeder are crooked. The device has printed approximately 6,000 pages, and the separation pad and feed roller assembly have already been replaced. Any helpful suggestions?

There has to be something in the paper path, bent mylar, sticky residue from a post it note or label. I found a paper clip in a 9570 that only intermittently caused a skew.
