L6300 Cassette Tower with grey stand-base removable

You know there is this cassette tower with the grey stand-base below for this printer.
If I remember correctly this thing came as a complete part.
The customer wants to have removed the grey plate because of reasons of space.
How easy is it? Does anyone know? Is it possible at all?
