brother 7040 drum error

I have encountered drum error in brother 7040 printer.. When I checked the drum life span it was 0 %.. First I cleaned and tried to recover the drum following the printer manual instruction but it didn't work.. Another option was to replace the drum but it cost so expensive so I install the drum to the other brother printer model which is also compatible to the drum hoping that it will work.. I was surprise the drum was working..!!

So i think the printer has a technical problem..! Can anyone explain me about this..? How to troubleshoot the printer/drum..?

go to the brother website, they have instructions on how to reset the drum.
we advise customer to reset the drum, and print till it drops.

to reset drum on brother :
- open the front caver .
- press option .
- then reset drum .

and there anther way to reset drum error

if this way doesn't work tell me to help you .

I find it strange that brother does not include reset instruction WITH the replacement drums. Thats why we have the internet LOL

brother co. includes reset instructions when you buy a new drum only ... so you have to buy a new one to know about it . but you can ask me anytime .... ♥♥
