    [Jamming] Brother MFC 9700

Paper is jamming (intermittent) at the same spot everytime. Right at the beginning of the drum unit (first paper sensor). I replaced the paper feed roller and sep pad and that helped a little bit. Any ideas? Sensor-clutch?

Do you get any other message when it jams ? i.e clean up drum

Check drum life. Reports, system set up & look at box printed at bottom showing drum life .It blocks in in black the remainder.

If at 0 percent it will probably be this

If the machine detects a charging error it shuts down and displays the "clean up drum" message thus causing a residual paper jam.
This is usually due to the user ignoring the change drum soon message and running the drum into the ground.

If this is it just fit new drum & follow instructions in the box to manually reset the drum counter

Turns out the fix was removing the spring from under the sep pad. I guess it was to tight (being new) for the paper to go through. It works fine now. No paper jams at all. Go figure.
