    BROTHER MFC 8860DN/Paper feed

    HI,
FRom fax or copy mode everything is fine. However when customer tries to print from his computer the message in display on printer says"no paper",.you can open bypass and put sheet of paper in and it works from printer(with paper in bypass tray is defaulted to automatically),but always says "no paper" from the the cassette. If I turn machine on and off the "no paper" message will clear out .Again if you copy ,the paper feeds fine all the time. The printer is shared by another computer and it printed fine from that computer. The settings on both machines when i go into printer properties is the same. Any ideas.
    THANKS ANDY

It is not showing no paper. It is probably showing no matching paper .
Make sure you have override letter/A4 switched on if it is in the driver settings.
Also on most Brother drivers there are 2 or sometimes even 3 sets of settings for the printer but the main cause iI have found is if you go onto advanced settings in properties , these settings are sometimes different to the main paper settings.
Also check the settings in the toolbox against the driver settings if you don't find any conflicts in the advanced tab.
It is usually one or the other of these

        Thanks for your PM.

This looks like a paper size issue to mee, too. I don't think there's anything wrong with the machine if you can copy from all trays and a different computer shows no issues. If that happens under Microsoft Office you might check the own settings for paper size/tray management - unfortunately these does usually override the printer driver settings.

If you are lucky it may do.
BUT lots of more modern computers do not remove all the driver components when you just delete them. They just remove the path too it.
You need to use a driver un-install tool to ensure all the components of the driver are removed first, otherwise when you go to re-install the driver the components that are still resident in your host P.C are not re-loaded as it knows they are already installed so it uses those.
This is more than likely where your problem lies.
So unless your customer has a driver removal tool I suspect you will still have to go back but hey it's worth a try. You might just get lucky
