For hl 5340.
open front cover.
with go button pressed, waits for all leds go on,release go button, press and hold again go button,waits for all leds go on,release go button, press and hold again go button, waits for all leds go on.
u need do 3 times this procedure, and u are good to go.

For hl 1440 i dont know but procedure 2440 is above.u may try this.

with machine turned on, open front cover
keep sw suportter pressed down until all leds ligth up.
take the drum out , and insert again, the error must go off when u close the door.

Thanks for the info on the brothers hl5340 and hl-1440 printer drum reset. This worked great. Appreciate info. Hope to share info with others.
