Yellow blinking staus lite/mfc 8660dn

HI The machine runs fine if I leave connection to computer unplugged.Once I plug it in after a few minutes I get blinking yellow status lite and message on computer to replace toner.(I suspect his is false message as I put new oem toner in machine)If I unplug computer from printer and turn printer off and on,I get rid of blinking yellow status lite and can run 8660 all day to make copies.If I connect back to computer status lite starts blinkling shortly after and I cant use machine for fax,scan or print. If I try to access printer settings thru menu when this happens I cant because all I get is printer busy message,until I disconnect computer from printer and turn machine off and on.I had customer reinstall with the cd the brother machine on his computer after deleting the one that was installed,This did not help. Any help or ideas would be welcomed. Thanks ANDY

Try doing the toner life reset procedure as if you have installed a new cartridge but it hasn't reset the machine, whilst you are connected to the computer.
It should allow you to do this as it is performed with the front cover open

Stiill have not been able to figure problem out.when I disconnect the Ethernet from machine (connected to one printer) and turn printer off and on,I can copy and fax without problem,As soon asa I connect printer cable the yellow lite blinks and the message on computer says Toner end of life,The toner is new and I don't have any toner messages on machine itself Thanks ANDY

Have you tried doing a service mode 77 print out ?
This will show you the life of the toner cartridge and on some machines the date it was installed.
This will at least prove that the machine has recognised a new toner was installed.
If not reset the one time gear and refit it again.
Not sure if this will help as it works o.k when not connected.
I would also try connecting it to another computer and see if you get the same symptom.

Those damn computers can cause some weird faults from time to time

HI, Thanks for help. I will try. PS -Im having trouble finding service manual for Brother MFC 8660DN.Can anyone help and tell me where I can purchase one for download. Thanks Andy
